Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet. Dental disease can lead to health issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys, and can affect the entire body through the bloodstream. In fact, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population.

In spite of these disturbing facts, many pet owners are not aware of the importance of dental care to their pets’ health. There are a lot of different ways to improve your pets’ dental hygiene, including home brushing, dental chews, and regular inspection.

The most effective way to protect your pet from dental disease is through professional cleanings. We perform thorough cleanings here at Animal Crossing Veterinary Hospital, PLLC, including the area beneath the gums that you can’t see or access at home.

If your pet has brown/yellow teeth, bad breath, or is having difficulty eating, these could all be signs of dental disease. Please call us at (830) 393-3421 today to learn more and schedule your pet’s’ dental cleaning.

  • We recently moved to San Antonio & hadn’t found a vet for our two dogs but were looking here & there for their upcoming vaccines. Our sweet Lucy ended up getting super sick on us & I was looking around to see which vet was the best option for us when I found multiple great reviews on Animal Crossing Vet on a group for dog moms! We decided to take her in & found out she had pyometra. From the moment I called them to when I left it was all a great experience. The vet tech Rachel was very gentle with our Lucy & explained everything that had to be done. Dr. Glover reassured us everything would be fine & he would give us a call after surgery. She is now home resting after all the pain she endured. The drive is 30 min from where we live but it’s worth it for us. If you’re looking for a new vet, this ones it! 🐶🐾🤍

  • Everyone at Animal Crossing Hospital is fantastic. Dr Glover, Dr Rode, the Vet Techs like Rachel, and the office staff are all always so nice, helpful, and in the case of our last visit, very patient. You can tell they truly care about their patients and their patients owners.

I have used these Doctors for 13 years and have always been treated with the upmost care. They help you with any and all questions and comfort you when you have to lay a fur baby to rest. I can not has enough about Dr.Rode and the other Doctors and Staff.
