What to Expect During Your Visit

Animal Crossing has assembled an amazing team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best healthcare possible for your pet. We have a beautiful hospital and boarding facility which is sanitary, comfortable and efficient for your fur baby. When looking for a vet for your animal, you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service. Call 830-393-3421 to schedule an appointment!

Regardless if you are coming in for vaccines, a sick visit, or a tech appointment; ACVH guarantees you will not feel rushed when at the hospital. Office visits are scheduled 20 minutes for vaccines and 40 minutes for a sick visit. This allows for both you and your pet to receive the undivided attention you deserve. It also ensures you have enough time to have every question or concern addressed by our devoted team. Our staff will talk to you and see if you are having any trouble with your pet. We will also go over diet, preventatives, and exercise to ensure that your pet is as healthy as possible. Then, one of our veterinarians will do a complete physical examination on your pet. It is always good to have a baseline in case your pet ever becomes ill. We also want to monitor your pet’s weight, ensuring that your pet stays a healthy weight. It is much easier to start a diet when a pet is a pound overweight instead of fifteen! Our veterinarian will also look for any potential complications. Our goal is to catch any problems before they become major ones. The sooner we catch a problem, the easier it is to treat and make a full recovery!

Once a year you should bring your pet in for their annual yearly check-up. This includes all annual vaccines and physical exam. A teeth cleaning may be suggested by our doctors as well.

A few helpful tips to make you and your pets visit as stress free as possible:

  • Please restrain your pet by keeping them on a leash or in a pet carrier before entering our lobby. Some pets can get a little nervous when meeting new people, being in new situations and when visiting the vet. This will help make it easier for both you and your pet, along with others visiting ACVH.
  • If you suspect that your pet may be sick and/or contagious, please call (830) 393-3421 before bringing your pet into the facilities. Our team may have special requirements to reduce exposure to others.

In the event our doctors believe it’s in your pet’s best interest to see a specialist, we will refer you. In some cases, the specialist has advanced expertise in areas more specific to their condition or diagnosis. ACVH wants to make sure your pet is getting the best treatment possible!
